How much does it cost to ship a car?

Your price depends on the distance, the size and weight of the vehicle, open or enclosed transport, whether it runs, the season, and how soon you need pickup. The quote form gives you an all-in price for your exact route in about 30 seconds, with no hidden fees.

How long does car shipping take?

Once your vehicle is on the truck, most carriers cover roughly 400 to 500 miles a day. As a rule of thumb, trips under 500 miles take 1 to 3 days and coast-to-coast trips take about 7 to 10 days. Weather, traffic and other stops on the route can shift that, so we give you a delivery window when your carrier is assigned.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we work with is licensed and carries active cargo insurance that covers your vehicle while it is on the truck. We're happy to share the coverage details before you book.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?

Open transport carries your vehicle on an open multi-car trailer. It is the most common and most affordable option and is safe for everyday vehicles. Enclosed transport puts your vehicle inside a covered trailer, protected from weather and road debris. It costs more and is the usual choice for classic, luxury and exotic cars.

Do I need to be there for pickup and delivery?

You or someone you trust needs to be there at both ends to hand over or receive the keys, walk around the vehicle with the driver, and sign the inspection report. It can be a friend, family member or neighbor, as long as they are an adult.

Can you ship a car that doesn't run?

Yes. Choose “No, it is not operable” in the quote form so we assign a carrier with a winch. The vehicle needs to roll, brake and steer so it can be loaded safely.

Can I leave personal items in the car?

It's best to ship the vehicle empty. Personal items are not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance, and extra weight can affect the price. If you need to send a few things, tell us when you book so we can confirm what the carrier allows.

How do I get my car ready for shipping?

Wash the vehicle and take dated photos, remove toll tags and loose items, leave about a quarter tank of fuel, fold in the mirrors, and have one set of keys ready for the driver. Note any existing scratches or dents so they are on the pickup inspection report.
